About the Role

As a Full-Stack Web Engineer (Frontend-Focused) at Mondai by Rita, you'll work primarily on Mondai's AI-powered ed-tech platform, building and maintaining responsive web applications across mobile and web targets. You'll gain hands-on experience with a modern TypeScript stack, from pixel-perfect UI components to serverless backend infrastructure, while learning directly from senior engineers and collaborating cross-functionally with Designers, Researchers, Product Managers, and Project Managers.

This role is designed for an early-career engineer who has strong frontend fundamentals, a passion for full-stack, and a drive to grow into a versatile and well rounded Software Engineer specialized in building the future.

Responsibilites

Frontend (70%)

Build and maintain responsive web applications using React and Expo Framework
Implement pixel-perfect UIs with NativeWind (Tailwind CSS for React Native)
Develop reusable component libraries following the Behavior Layers pattern (UI/Behavior/Container)
Create comprehensive Storybook documentation for all UI components
Implement state management using TanStack Query and Redux
Build type-safe forms with React Hook Form and Zod validation
Write end-to-end tests using Cypress
Monitor application performance using Sentry

Backend (30%)

Build and maintain Express.js/Node.js REST APIs with TypeScript
Develop AWS Lambda serverless functions with API Gateway
Integrate AWS Cognito for authentication (email, phone, OAuth)
Design and implement database schemas using Aurora MySQL Serverless
Create and maintain Swagger/OpenAPI documentation
Deploy infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation (IaC)
Integrate OpenAI API for AI-powered features
Implement secure authentication flows (JWT, OAuth 2.0)

Requirements

1–2 years of experience with React or a similar frontend framework, with a portfolio or GitHub demonstrating solid fundamentals
Strong understanding of TypeScript, component architecture, and responsive design
Familiarity with REST APIs and basic backend development (Node.js/Express preferred)
Experience with or willingness to learn cloud services (AWS preferred)
Ability to take feedback and iterate quickly in a collaborative team environment
Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail
Familiarity with AI-powered tools and APIs is a plus
